Label Icons on Packing Labels

Label Icons are printed on Packing Labels to convey various bits of information that is useful to your warehouse and/or drivers. They can be enabled in various ways, either by checking a box on a customer account or depending on order type or if a specific keyword is found in the customer's special instructions.

Icons are printed at the top left on the packing label, underneath your companies logo.

Most Used Icons

No Plastic Bag Icon

Enabled via a checkbox on the customer account, it means the customer has requested that they don't want any plastic packaging in their account. Set by admins only. Read More

Cardboard Only

If you use bins/totes and the customer NEVER returns them to you, you can set the 'use cardboard box' flag on their account and this icon will be printed on every order label they have. Set by admins on the customer account, and is permanent until an admin un-checks the flag.

Cooler Icon

Printed if a customer has the word 'cooler' in their special instructions. This signifies that your driver should expect to leave the box or unpack the box into a cooler that the customer has left out. When packing the box, if it has a cooler icon, you may want to put all items in a large bag or something else to make it easier to transfer the contents from a box/bin to a cooler. Star Icon

Printed on the label of the first order a customer ever receives. Useful to know that you should include a welcome letter. Check out our blog post on why you should include a welcome letter. Generated automatically by the system.

VIP Icon

Used to signify to your warehouse and drivers that the customer is a very important person, and their order should be treated with EXTRA caution and care. Maybe they are a celebrity, maybe someone with a lot of influence, maybe a long-time customer, maybe someone that just will complain every week if there is even one little thing wrong in their order. Set by admins on the customer account. Permanent, unless an admin un checks the flag on the customer account and will be printed on every order.

Gift Box

Signifies that this is a gift box, purchased by one person and sent to another. You can use this to include promotional materials to try to convert that gift recipient into a customer, or use it to know that special packaging/materials should be used. Generated automatically.

First Box on Trial Account

Similar to the Star Icon, but used on accounts where the schedule type is 'one time trial'. Generated automatically.

First Box using a Gift Certificate

Similar to the Star Icon, it's printed on the first order a customer receives that signed up using a Gift Certificate. Helpful to know what promotional materials you should include with their order. Generated automatically.

Pickup Order

If you generate a 'pick up order', which is an empty order that forces your driver to stop at a former customer's house to 'pick up' any shipping materials, bins, or boxes that they still have, this icon will be printed on the label. Generated automatically, but an admin must generate the pick up order.

Rarely Used or Deprecated Icons

These icons are mostly used with old promotional sites and some of these might not even work anymore.

Groupon Icon

Used if the box is from a customer that signed up through a Groupon promotion and is receiving their first order. Generated automatically. (note: we don't recommend Groupon deals anymore.. they were amazing in 2008, but not so much in 2019)

Gilt Icon

Used if the box is from a customer that signed up through a Gilt promotion and is receiving their first order. I don't think anyone has used this since 2010? Generated automatically.

Sweetjack Icon

Used if the box is from a customer that signed up through a Sweetjack promotion and is receiving their first order. I don't think anyone has used this since 2009. Generated automatically.

Plum District Icon

Used if the box is from a customer that signed up through a Plum District promotion and is receiving their first order. I can't even remember the last time this was used... Generated automatically.

Media Box

Used if you set up a media promotions campaign- but I don't know if this works because no one has used it since maybe 2011?

Living Social

Same as the Groupon icon, but for Living Social instead.

Daily Deals

Similar to Groupon icon, but I don't even know if this 'deal' site still exists.
